Rapper Jeezy Places Pressure on the Rap Game

Welcome to Atlanta. Marginalized by crunk music in the early 2000’s, ATL’s popularity lies in trap music. While rappers like Pastor Troy and T.I. set the background for Atlanta’s success, Jeezy paid his dues, now carrying the torch with fellow rapper Gucci Mane, as confirmed Underground Kings of the South. The Trap or Die series has been influential in Southern rap. “Trap or Die,” was coined in the studio, on album Thug Motivation 101. Next DJ Drama and Jeezy premiered Trap or Die, in the Gangsta Grillz series, cementing both artist as hood ambassadors.

Young Jeezy came up on the blocks of Atlanta, bouncing from place to place. He’s been quoted as entering the game as early as 15 years of age. Jeezy’s steadfast hustle proved to rappers a home is a state of mind and clearly its Snow Season.   Jeezy provides for the streets once again in releasing studio album Pressure.  As a rap veteran Jeezy applies pressure by teaming with Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole on track, “American Dream.”  His feature list includes Rick Ross, Tory Lanez, Trey Songz, Payroll Giovanni, YG, 2 Chainz and Puff Daddy.  Jeezy proves he is on another level.  The themes of the album include investments and  politics.

Overall Jeezy will start a riot with this album, at the same time, remaining true to Atlanta’s roots of street music and club bangers.  The rapper has two angles money and motivation. CEO of Corporate Thuggin Entertainment, he founded his rap career on preaching to the rap congregation, “Chuuch.” Trapping is almost a religion in these streets, although rap has formulated popularity out of experience, it is rare to be blessed from the struggle. Many get swallowed in violence and paranoia. The money flows from the bottom to the top, and in this case Jeezy is “Most High.” He is the definition of get it how you live. Young Jeezy rhymes immaculate stories, true to the culture at hand. He manages to produce a very relevant album, and once again bless the game.
