Flip Gordon On Working With Ring Of Honor & His Other Projects

The past 12 months have been a meteoric rise within the career of professional wrestler Flip Gordon. After plenty of high-profile matches around Japan, Mexico, Europe and his native United States, Gordon recently signed a full-time contract with one of the world’s leaders in the wrestling world, Ring Of Honor. Within the next year, Gordon will be a part of Ring Of Honor’s already-sold-out “supercard” show with New Japan Pro-Wrestling at New York’s Madison Square Garden during Wrestlemania Weekend, Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Rager At Sea cruise, and — of course — ROH’s next United Kingdom tour, which kicks off in Edinburgh, Scotland this week on August 16th.

Below is Part 2 of my interview with Flip Gordon, who is not only a hero in the ring — and on the screen, which he opened up about within our Q&A — but also a veteran of the United States Army. Gordon can be followed on Twitter and Instagram via @TheFlipGordon.

At what point did wrestling become your full-time gig?

Flip Gordon: April 28th, 2017 was the last time I punched a timecard. It’s a day I’ll never forget.

Based on Ring Of Honor selling out Madison Square Garden and All In selling out the Sears Centre Arena, it is obvious that wrestling is as popular now as it has been in a long time. When did you start to notice that wrestling was mainstream again?

Flip Gordon: I started noticing it about a year or so ago.

Is there anywhere you haven’t yet wrestled but are still hoping to?

Flip Gordon: France, Spain, Puerto Rico, Brazil and New Zealand are my top 5 places I want to go.

I know that you are heading back to the U.K. for an ROH tour. Where was your first international tour?

Flip Gordon: My first international tour was to the U.K. in January 2017 for LDN Wrestling.

Your Twitter profile lists that you are actor. When in your life did you start acting?

Flip Gordon: I started acting in high school theater and then landed a lead roll in a film this past November for The Find.

On Twitter earlier this week, in response to Cody Rhodes, you volunteered to sing the national anthem at All In. Is singing also a talent of yours?

Flip Gordon: Definitely not, although I did sing the national anthem once before a wrestling meet in high school.

Finally, Flip, any last words for the kids?

Flip Gordon: Chase your dreams no matter who says it’s not possible.
