Lo Bosworth On Working With McCormick, Its 2019 Flavor Forecast, Future Projects & More

Back in late March, celebrity influencer and lifestyle expert Lo Bosworth and Top Chef season 10 winner Chef Kristen Kish were in New York to talk about their partnership with McCormick, a global leader in flavor. Bosworth and Kish addressed how they are working with McCormick on the company’s 2019 Flavor Forecast, which uncovers what’s next in flavor; previous on-point McCormick predictions have included Chipotle (2000), Turmeric (2010), and Coconut (2008).

Beyond her work with McCormick, Lo Bosworth is also the founder of the feminine health care brand Love Wellness and one of the hosts of the Lady Lovin’ podcast. On behalf of The Hype I had the pleasure of doing Q&A with Ms. Bosworth about her various projects of the moment. More on Lo Bosworth can be found online at www.lovewellness.co and www.thelodown.com.

Some people know you as a TV star, others as an influencer, others as a podcaster… How do you like to be thought of?

Lo Bosworth: For the past few years I’ve been combining my passion for food and wellness into running Love Wellness full-time, a wellness brand that provides modern, homeopathic products for women’s personal care. I’m a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and have a passion for nutrition as well. I turn my love of food into natural solutions for good health, whether it’s through delicious and creative meals or issue-specific nutritional supplements.

How did the opportunity to work with McCormick first come up?

Lo Bosworth: I travel quite a bit for work and love to incorporate inspiration from these trips into my food. The Flavor Seekers program provides me with a brilliant opportunity to discover what’s new in food into my life, for health, work, and pleasure.

Do you have a favorite of the McCormick offerings?

Lo Bosworth: I love McCormick’s black and white sesame seeds. They’re nutritionally dense, and add a ton of flavor to a dressing or sprinkled on top of a piece of fish. They’re especially good when you quickly brown them in a pan to bring out some of the deeper flavors.

Do you remember when you first learned about McCormick?

Lo Bosworth: I’ve been using McCormick products since I was a kid when I would come home from school and prepare dinner with my Mother. She would cook from scratch most days of the week and we always had a spice cabinet full of the bottles with red lids!

So McCormick aside, what are you currently working on?

Lo Bosworth: I own and operate Love Wellness, and am busy growing my team and expanding our product offering in 2019.

Is there a career accomplishment you are most proud of?

Lo Bosworth: Making my first full-time hire at Love Wellness in 2018 is a highlight for me. Watching my team grow has been particularly fruitful.

When not busy with work, how do you like to spend your free time?

Lo Bosworth: I love to exercise with my boyfriend and cook up crazy dishes for him. Sometimes I’ll spend half a day making a roast or trying something new out on him.

What was the last concert you attended for fun?

Lo Bosworth: Forget the past, I’m excited for Ariana Grande at MSG in June!

Finally, Lo, any last words for the kids?

Lo Bosworth: Eat your vegetables!
