UFC Star Paige VanZant On Working With Kinektic On UFC FIGHT PASS & Her Next Fight

Paige VanZant is not only one of the UFC’s most popular female athletes, but a best-selling author and a finalist on Dancing With The Stars. Now VanZant is looking to add “top broadcaster” to her CV as she will be the lead color commentator for the new MMA promotion Kinektic, which debuts live on the UFC FIGHT PASS network this Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM PST.

Simply put, Kinektic is a new team-formatted grappling MMA promotion. All Kinektic events will feature four competing teams — each comprising five world-class grapplers — in a tournament consisting of semifinals and a championship final. Additionally, all events will feature a grappling Super Fight, which will feature additional participants not already competing in the tournament.

The captains of the four star-powered teams of Kinektic are UFC veteran and MMA media personality Chael Sonnen, world-class grappler Craig Jones, UFC light heavyweight Anthony Smith, and former UFC welterweight Chris Lytle. Meanwhile, the promotion was co-founded by UFC Hall Of Famer Urijah Faber, Las Vegas entrepreneur Keith Veltre and award-winning sports announcer Sean Wheelock.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Paige VanZant by phone on August 12, 2019. The audio of that chat is embedded below, while the full chat has been exclusively transcribed for WhatCulture.
