Cerrone Drops Epic New Music Video “The Impact”

Cerrone, the French disco legend, has today unveiled a brand new music video for his single “The Impact“. The name of the track refers to humanity’s impact on the planet and the track features a sample of a speech from Jane Goodall, one of the world’s top animal scientists, imploring humans to be responsible when it comes to looking after the earth.

“Every single day we make some impact on the planet.
We haven’t inherited this planet from our parents,
We’ve borrowed it from our children.
If we get together, then we can start to heal some of the scars that we’ve inflicted”.

Cerrone has been concerned about the impacts of climate change for 40+ years, long before scientists were in broad agreement that climate change was indeed man-made. Cerrone’s smash hit from 1977 – Supernature – also has an ecological angle, demonstrating that this is something that he’s been concerned about for a long time. It’s refreshing to hear music with an environmental message, without overshadowing the quality of the music itself. Cerrone has struck the perfect balance on “The Impact“.

It has been 40 years since the release of ‘Supernature’, with brilliant lyrics by Lene Lovich. Just as I did then, I believe we need to take wise steps towards our collective future. With this in mind, I have chosen for this project to associate myself with Jane Goodall – a strong leader in environmental protection – to deliver a message of hope and responsibility for the preservation of our planet.” – remarks Cerrone

The Impact” is the first single from a new album from Cerrone, which is slated for release sometime in early 2020. He’ll be touring North America next year around the release of the new album, tour dates are expected to be released soon.
