Interview: Kitana Allen On Going Viral For Her Lizzo “Truth Hurts” Remix & More

The talented 8-year-old Kitana Allen aka Kizzo recently released an extremely adorable remix of Lizzo’s chart-topping hit song “Truth Hurts”. Kitana changed the lyrics to give insight into the life of having two older brothers and it seems like everyone can relate to her now-viral music video.

Kitana has caught the attention of Lizzo her self, Access Hollywood, Popsugar, Respect Magazine, and the list goes on. We caught up with Kitana to hear her thoughts on receiving over one million views and what’s next for the bright young superstar. Check out our interview below.

How did your Lizzo “Truth Hurts” remix come about?

“Kizzo” was created because I love music and I love her so it only made sense that I recreated a hit song from one of my idols!

How did you feel when you found out Lizzo noticed your music video?

When Lizzo posted my video I was in complete shock… and I was happy that my hard work was not only noticed but recognized by LIZZO herself!

What are your thoughts on having your remix viewed over a million times?

A milli, a milli, a milli… I’M ILL!! Lol… Over ONE MILLION views my brothers said I was famous!

Are you the youngest of your siblings and the only girl? If so, what is that like?

Yes, I’m the youngest girl. Let’s just say I have everyone wrapped around my fingers!

Who are some of the other people on your radar? What Artist are you listening to and Actors are you watching on TV?

First and foremost Don Flamingo and of course LIZZO. I also listen to Chance the Rapper, K Dot, SZA, Saweetie and I even listen to PRINCE!

What will you be dressing up as for Halloween?

This year for Halloween I’m going to be… “Why so serious?” That’s a clue, you gotta figure it out!

If you could work with anyone in the world, who would it be?

If I could collaborate with anyone at this very moment it would be LIZZO… can y’all tell her to call me, PLEASE?
