The Black Moods’ Josh Kennedy, Chico Diaz & Jordan Hoffman On New Album “Sunshine” & More

In early May 2020, rock & roll trio The Black Moods release its highly-anticipated sophomore album Sunshine via Steelhorse Entertainment/The Fuel. This followed the news of the album’s title track becoming the band’s fourth single to debut in the Top 40 of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock charts. “Sunshine,” the band’s most recent single, had premiered in April with an animated music video, as following the Top 40-charting singles “Bad News” (#24), “Bella Donna” (#29) and “Whatcha Got” (#30).

The Black Moods recorded Sunshine with Grammy Award-winning producer Johnny Karkazis who turned the group’s rehearsal space into a makeshift studio in order to capture the energy of its live performances. Speaking of which, The Black Moods — as comprised of vocalist/guitarist Josh Kennedy, drummer Chico Diaz and bassist Jordan Hoffman — has notably toured alongside many top-tier rock acts, including The Doors’ Robbie Krieger, Shinedown, Jane’s Addiction, and Whitesnake.

I had the pleasure of speaking with all three members of The Black Moods via Zoom on July 14, 2020, as embedded below. More on The Black Moods can be found online by visiting www.theblackmoods.com and/or www.facebook.com/TheBlackMoods.
