Meet PSL the Edmonton Canada Artist Who is Forcing His Way Into the Music Industry With His Album Release “In My Head”

PSL whose real name is Pierre Saint Laurent is a diverse artist from Edmonton Canada. PSL was born in Port au Prince Haiti in 1992. His parents were facing extreme financial hardship at this time and had no choice but to give their children up for adoption. PSL was a newborn at this time and his sister was one and a half. Haiti’s first democratically elected president was overthrown in September 1991 which propelled Haiti into its worst crisis since popular protests brought down the 29-year dictatorship of the Duvalier family in 1986. At this time a lot of parents from around the world were adopting children who were stranded in Haiti, In 1994 PSL, and his sister were adopted by a Caucasian family from New Brunswick Canada they already had two children of their own so they became a family of four. This was the beginning of PSL’s journey in Canada.

His passion and love for music came from his mother playing the piano to him as a child. Hearing the different chords and melodies made him feel like everything is okay despite his past being an orphan. Listening to the piano intrigued him to the point where he wanted to be able to create that feeling for himself at any given moment. He is the perfect example of turning struggle into strength! As time went by he became interested in the Hip Hop genre and looked up to artists like 50cent and presently Drake. Fast forward to 2020 he blessed the music industry with his studio album ‘In My Head’. The inspiration for this project came from the positive feedback he received from his previous 6 track EP also entitled ‘In My Head’. He felt like his fans deserved a full version of his vibe so he recorded a 14 song Album that took 6 months to record in his home studio in his apartment. The production came from a few beatmakers with whom he has been working closely over the years. The term ‘In My Head’ explains PSL feeling misunderstood in his city also talking about his life and many relationships with his pairs. while keeping the production at a level where you can really feel each song for what it is. PSL is taking the world for a journey in his head.
