Los Angeles based triple threat Dana Vaughns is a fast-emerging artist making waves in the entertainment industry. The 23-year-old’s fresh take on R&B combines classic 90s influences with a selection of pop and electronic sounds to create a musical identity that is uniquely his own.

From the outside looking in, who is Dana Vaughns?
Well seeing this is an impossible task, all I hope is that people see a soul striving to make a difference by holding himself to his standards. A light-hearted yet sincere young man who has a lot to offer.
Was there a defining moment that brought you to the music industry?
The defining moment was the time I spent in IM5. A boyband (2012-2016) that opened my heart to traveling, music, performing, and fan interaction.
Tell us about your forthcoming project and what it means for you?
My upcoming project “Love So Different” is a beautiful blend of deep reflection, and self-love. I wrote this E.P during summer 2020 with the intention of making the music I needed to heal the cracks in my heart while simultaneously pleasing my female counterparts.
If you had to pick an introductory song from your body of work what would it be?
“Passionate” would be the song I would play. It’s one of those records that works at any point in the day. This song displays my flirtatious and more obviously, my passionate nature.
How have you handled the pandemic, what changed for you?
This pandemic has given me the time to dive into things I might not ever have realized I could work into my new daily routine. The head space I feel as if the pandemic shifted the majority of the world in, is the type of reflective mindset I’ve walked through life with since a child. 2020 gave me the freedom to lighten up and have conversations with people/peers that they once might have been uncomfortable having. I say all that unselfishly, but appreciative of God for his wonder working power.
Tell us about your work and passions outside of the industry.
I have an array of passions. I love studying human nature, writing poems, and reading informative literature. I grew up playing basketball so that is a consistent joy and release in my life as well.
Any words of wisdom for up and comers?
The best thing I could say is to realize that your career goes as far as you go deep. If you choose to be an artist, the masses will subconsciously except you to ease their pain or excite them though your honesty. This shines a light on an artist that if you aren’t aware of can become confusing.
