Who Is Brandy Haze?
A new find for us, Brandy Haze is an up & coming singer, songwriter from Chino Hills, California whose music is influenced by Contemporary R&B, Trap, House and Electro Dance Grooves.
Haze released her sophomore project “Garden Fire” in October 2020, which features her standout single “Pretend” which can be seen on BET Soul and VEVO’s “Incoming R&B” playlist. The project’s follow up single “Intentions” was also featured on Soundcloud’s Fresh Pressed playlist. Brandy is currently working on new songs and videos for 2021 and is determined to rock crowds across the country with her incredible melodies and music style.
The Hype Magazine got Haze to weigh in on a few things
Was there a defining moment that brought you to the industry?
I’ve always wanted to be in the music industry. It wasn’t until I was working my first real job that I realized music was where I needed to be. So, after a year, I quit my job and moved back to Southern California to pursue music.
How did you discover your style which is moving you through the maze right now?
I try to do something new each time I release a project. My first project was pretty high energy, more Neo-Soul and House inspired. Garden Fire is more on the Alternative and R&B side. Writing Garden Fire came from a situationship I was in during that time.
Tell us about your current project and where it stands for you as a whole
I love my project Garden Fire and I think it evokes real emotion. During this weird era, where everyone has been forced to slow down, I was able to reflect on my situation and how I felt about the whole thing. I think it’s a true reflection of the ups and downs of a relationship. The intro track Intentions is definitely one of my favorite songs that I’ve written so far.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love knowing that people enjoy my music. I love bringing people joy, peace, comfort, or whatever emotion. I’m just happy to make people truly feel.
If you could collaborate with any artist living or dead and from any genre who would it be and why?
If I could collaborate with any artist, it would be Frank Ocean. The way he’s able to paint a picture with his words is amazing. I hope to work with him one day. I’m definitely one of his biggest fans.
What’s coming up next for Brandy Haze?
I’m dropping an R&B project on Feb 5th. You can also expect many new visuals from me. I’m looking forward to putting out many new music and performance videos. Once the world is back open, I’d love to tour, but until then you can expect a few projects from me in the near future.
