Back Story – Emerging R&B Artist Kenny Iko is from Washington, DC who has an infectious & smooth voice with high energy dance moves, featuring a unique style. Kenny Iko is a Singer & Songwriter, that focuses on bringing back good timeless music by giving listeners luscious melodies, relatable, & feel-good lyrics. The high energy performer combines genuine talent, sharp choreography & out of this world vocals to give the audience a full musical memorable experience.

Kenny is the former lead singer from the group 4EY “The Future” whose hit single “SCOOT OVA” and “No Time To Waste” featuring Wale opened doors to tour with artists such as August Alsina, Trevor Jackson, Diggy Simmons, & Justine Skye.

Now solo, he hit the ground blazing when he released his solo EP called “War Of Love”(2019). Kenny Iko proves that hard work & dedication can turn passionate dreams into a beautiful reality. Kenny has recently performed alongside artists such as Anthony Hamilton, Tamar Braxton, Jon B, Keke Palmer, & City Girls. There is much in store for Kenny Iko and he’s just scratching the surface. From the outside looking in, who is Kenny Iko the artist?

Kenny Iko is a singer, songwriter, and overall entertainer, whose ultimate goal is to create timeless music and moments in music history. He brings back the familiarity of that old school R&B performance style and feel. He loves to entertain the fans and to just sing.

Was there a defining moment that brought you to the music industry?

Music has been a huge part of my life since I was a baby. My family was super big in music and singing and it just came naturally to me. I would say the defining moment was when I entered my 1st talent contest. While I was singing, I realized this girl was in tears and really in ahh of my singing. That moment made me feel close to someone I never even met, and I loved the fact that my voice could touch people and make them feel.

What is it about R&B that pulls at your soul?

Honestly, R&B truly resonates with my soul, and I feel like there are many songs that I can listen to through high and low moments in my life. To me, the delivery with R&B is very authentic and real.

Tell us about your latest single “Everything” and the message behind it

Everything is a song that captures the blissful moment in a relationship. Every relationship has that moment where you all feel like this is forever, sometimes it comes true, and sometimes doesn’t. But this song I wanted to talk about being in that moment that I remembered being super in love with my shawty.

What is the magic of a great song, one that will last forever?

It’s just something that can’t be explained. It just stays with people l forever and becomes timeless

If you had to pick one song of yours as an introduction to a first-time listener what song would that be?

I would pick my song “Everything”, as the song really showcases my artistry and my capability.

Who’s on your bucket list to collaborate with?

I would love to collaborate with Usher and Bruno Mars. Those two guys are my top favorite singers and are extremely talented and creative.

Any guidance for those just breaking in?

Stay true to yourself and what you want to do musically. No one has the formula or answer to what a hit or superstar is in today’s time.
