World’s Biggest Online Luxury Watch Marketplace, Chrono24, Scouts President Biden’s Favorite Wrist Watches

The world’s largest peer-to-peer marketplace for luxury watches, Chrono24, has empowered its in-house watch experts to take a deeper look at the watches worn by the new U.S. Commander in Chief, President Joe Biden – all with the idea that looking at a watch lover’s collection can often paint a telling picture about the wearer himself. Chrono24’s in-house experts spent a massive amount of time “eagle-eye” hunting through photographs from President Biden’s political career beginning with his Vice Presidency in the Obama administration and identifying his favorite timepieces.

President Biden’s favorites include: (links to purchase all models currently in the marketplace are in blue)

Rolex Datejust 41mm new!

The newest acquisition to President Biden’s collection, acquired just days before the inauguration and also worn to the inauguration! (Many watch experts expected him to wear the Vulcain Cricket, as many presidents have worn before). He is now sporting The Oystersteel and 18-karat white gold 41 mm model, with the jubilee bracelet.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

President Biden was seen wearing this model with a black dial and bezel during his 2020 campaign, and also owns the blue-on-blue “James Bond” edition as well. Fun fact: the Omega Seamaster was also worn by President Kennedy at his inauguration in 1961 as well!

Omega Speedmaster Professional (aka the “Moon Watch”)

President Biden is a frequent fan of the same watch Buzz Aldrin had on his wrist when he set foot on the Moon on July 20th, 1969

Tissot T-Touch

President Biden wore the stainless steel case with a black rubber strap model often during his Vice Presidency.

Seiko 7T32-6M90 Chronograph

An oldie but a goodie – yellow gold with a quartz movement – inexpensive at only a few hundred dollars, but clearly a tried and true favorite for President Biden

Reviewing President Joe Biden’s wristwatch collection is an interesting look at his character – showcasing many of the same values that he reportedly holds dear. His choices are not overly ostentatious or flashy, with the vast majority of the timepieces being workmen’s utilitarian watches. He is loyal to the models he owns, despite their monetary value or age. The watch experts at Chrono24 infer the recent addition of one of Rolex’s more reserved models – the Rolex Datejust 41mm – to his collection is commemorative and celebratory of his new station as ‘leader of the free world’ but very much still aligned with his preferences as a watch collector.

Tim Stracke, Co-CEO of Chrono24 comments: “Chrono24 has seen watch collecting explode in popularity even in 2020 despite economic uncertainty. We attribute this continuing uptick to be a renewed passion for collecting – pursuing that passion digitally is not only a safe hobby practiced indoors but is a way to connect to something larger. In our case, it is connecting with a global community of watch lovers which span more than 100 countries – collectors who care about storytelling, history and value.”

Chrono24 has been the global online marketplace for luxury watches since 2003. They are the #1 address for luxury watches for commercial watch dealers, private sellers and watch enthusiasts from around the world. With approximately 500,000 watches from more than 3,000 retailers and more than 30,000 private sellers, the platform boasts an average 500K unique visitors per day with approximately 9M unique visits per month (plus a cool 115K+ Instagram user following). Monthly purchase requests fall in the six-digit range, and Chrono24’s GMV was up 30% last year over 2019 – making it the company’s best year on record.
