Malin Barr On Hew New Film “Honeydew,” Upcoming Projects, Musical Preferences & More

The movie Honeydew tells the story of a young couple (played by Sawyer Spielberg and Malin Barr) who are forced to seek shelter in the home of an aging farmer (portrayed by Barbara Kingsley of The Straight Story and Jessica Jones fame) and her peculiar son. That couple, while seeking shelter, begins to have strange cravings and hallucinations which take them down a rabbit hole of the bizarre. The film — out via VOD, Digital HD and DVD outlets on April 13, 2021 — was written and directed by Devereux Milburn and notably served as the feature acting debut for Sawyer Spielberg.

The aforementioned Malin Barr is a Swedish actress based in New York. Honeydew aside, recent acting credits include First Love, The Beta Test, CBS series Bull, Scandinavian TV series Before We Die, and featurette Centigrade. Barr has also served as a writer and/or director on a variety of projects.

On April 7, 2021, I had the pleasure of interviewing Malin Barr via Zoom, as embedded below. Besides Honeydew, we discussed upcoming projects, hobbies outside of work, and her musical preferences. More on Barr is online at www.twitter.com/barrmalin, while more about Honeydew — a film release by way of Dark Star Pictures and Bloody Disgusting — can be found here, here and here.
