“Lookalike Love” Stars Jennifer Jaenlle Ward & Yuriel Michell’e Long (Miss Shalae) On Their July 7, 2021 Debut On Lifetime & More

Lookalike Love is the latest series to hit the air from Kinetic Company, a production company behind Netflix’s Love Is Blind and Lifetime’s Married At First Sight. Lookalike Love will premiere on July 7, 2021 at 10 pm EST/9 pm CST on Lifetime. The show follows 4 couples in which 1 partner has physically transformed themselves into the object of their celebrity obsession: Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Marilyn Monroe, and Barbie. These ladies do not just look like these moguls, they also copy their speech patterns, extravagant fashion, and mannerisms. But with growing pressure from friends and family members who sometimes do not understand these ladies’ potential financial success on social media, these lookalikes are driven to greater extremes to prove all of theit doubters wrong.

Professional makeup artist Jennifer Janelle Ward, 29, has reached full-blown obsession with the world’s biggest reality star Kim Kardashian. She spends thousands of dollars on hair, makeup, and clothing to replicate Kim’s looks, though her transformation began years before when her high school love-turned-husband began helping her with her fitness journey. Bullied as a child, Ward has a lot to prove to those who mocked and tormented her. As she found self-confidence through this process, she lost her relationship with her family who fail to be charmed by Kim Kardashian and the life Ward now leads. In addition to her makeup influencer career, Ward aspires to become a pop star.

When Yuriel Michell’e Long, now 34, transitioned from male to female, she began to look more and more like Beyoncé. She often can’t walk down the street without people double taking and asking if she was the Queen Bey. A drag performer in the ballroom scene by the stage name Michell’e, she fully embraces the resemblance and is working towards becoming the #1 Beyoncé lookalike in the world; she is known to social media followers and fans all over the world as Miss Shalae. She has been mistaken for Beyoncé by paparazzi, and even gets her meals comped at times. By day she is a hairstylist, but Miss Shalae’s dream is to pursue a rap career and tour the world as Michell’e.

On June 25, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jennifer Janelle Ward and Yuriel Michell’e Long via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Ward, Long and Lookalike Love is here, here, here and here.
