4 More Gaming Recommendations For December 2021 & Beyond

Regardless of whether or not you are still quarantining to any extent, odds are that some of your favorite dining and entertainment spots are still not open like they used to be. In turn, you are likely consuming digital and streaming-based content like you were in mid and late 2020.

Fortunately, video games are still in a “golden age” of sorts. No matter your console of choice, the games these days are amazing, including the music used in them. And even if most of the video game developers were forced to change up how they make their games as of late, there are still plenty of new and exciting things for gamers to be psyched about, no matter how much gaming you do. Below is a look at some recent gaming industry developments which recently hit my radar.

Chorus

Chorus — often stylized as “Chorvs” — is a space combat video game developed by Fishlabs and published by Deep Silver. The game was released earlier this month for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, Luna, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S alike. Played from a third-person perspective, the game’s protagonist Nara pilots a sentient starcraft known as Forsaken. The game is set in an open world, and the players can complete various optional quests. As Nara explores the world, she will encounter various ancient temples. Upon exploring these temples and solving puzzles, Nara will gain aether powers that grant her new combat abilities. Expect lots of adventure from Chorus.

Chicken Police: Paint It Red!

From Chicken Police: Paint It Red!, you can expect a wild tale of love, death, chickens and redemption. A buddy-cop noir adventure with a carefully-crafted world, a gritty story, and absurd humor, this game mixes classic adventure games with visual novel-style storytelling. Now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh operating systems, Xbox One and Stadia, it is another modern classic from Epic Games.

Jackbox Party Pack 7

Jackbox Party Pack 7 is the 7th installment of the beloved Jackbox Party Pack franchise. It features the usual batch of hilarious games to be expected from a Jackbox title, and all of these games will surely energize your next game night, holiday party, happy hour, video call, and/or next hosting-oriented social occasion. No extra controllers are needed as the game’s players can use their phones or tablets to play along. Now available on Stadia; please note it is not the most recent Jackbox title, although it is new to the Stadia console.

Monopoly Madness

Last but definitely not least… Monopoly Madness offers shorter rounds than traditional video game-oriented Monopoly. Players get to race other players across the chaotic streets of MONOPOLY City, collect resources, buy and upgrade properties, mess with their opponents, and avoid their tricks to win the race for riches. As a lifelong fan of the Monopoly brand and related game, this game is quality-oriented and meets expectations for me as a gamer.
