0Douglas Booth On The New AMC+ Series “That Dirty Black Bag,” Playing Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx In “The Dirt,” Future Projects & More
The long-awaited AMC+ original series That Dirty Black Bag is scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2022. A raw, epic and romantic eight-part series about the dark side of the Far West, That Dirty Black Bag features a star-studded ensemble cast led by Dominic Cooper (Preacher, Spy City) and Douglas Booth (The Dirt), with Niv Sultan (Tehran), Guido Caprino (The Miracle), Christian Cooke (The Promise, Ordeal By Innocence), Travis Fimmel (Vikings) and Aidan Gillen (Game Of Thrones, The Wire) co-starring.
Filmed in Italy, Spain and Morocco, That Dirty Black Bag describes the eight-day clash between Arthur McCoy (played by Cooper) an incorruptible sheriff with a troubled past, and Red Bill (played by Booth), an infamous, solitary bounty hunter known for decapitating his victims and stuffing their heads into a dirty black bag, because, as he puts it, “Heads weigh less than bodies.” Paying homage to the classic spaghetti western, the series tells of bounty hunters, bandits and bloody vendettas.
On March 9, 2022, I had the pleasure of interviewing Douglas Booth, who earned a lot of acclaim for his portrayal of Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx in the Netflix original film The Dirt. Beyond That Dirty Black Bag, we spoke about his acting methodology, whether he spent time with Sixx before being cast in The Dirt and what is coming up for him. More on That Dirty Black Bag can be found here, here and here.
