Dr. Minoo Ghamari, Provides Free Advice on Social Media On How To Gain More Attention To Your Business

A DC movie supervillain once famously said, “If you’re good at something, never do it for free.” While his character is fictional, the sentiments are not, as they are echoed by traditional business people worldwide. However, the principle underlines a critical distinction between back-of-house executives and public-facing marketing specialists. Many marketers believe that showing clients your service without a barrier to entry can help them engage with your business. The idea works even better when the service is for people’s health. Dr. Minoo Ghamari, a cosmetic dentist recently named one of the best in Melbourne, Australia, has been offering free health tips through her social media channels to connect with patients.

Ghamari, who co-founded a cosmetic dental office named Gorgeous Smiles in 2014, was not born a marketer. She was born a dentist, as her co-founder was her mother, Dr. May Balaei, who was able to stabilize the business while her daughter qualified. But numerous circumstances in recent years prompted a need to adapt. It’s the stark reality that simply performing their profession often isn’t enough for specialists to prosper in the current climate.

Today, the dentist, who became a doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Debrecen, Hungary, shed light on her patient interaction strategies and the complimentary information she offers online. As healthcare provisions in many parts of the world are underfunded or unaffordable for patients, an increasing number of people are turning to the internet for advice. Advocates accept the solution is not sustainable in the long-term but may provide some relief while temporarily relieving pressure on public services.

“Social media is an amazing tool for any health professional to use to get their advice out there,” Ghamari commented. “Of course, it’s important that we are careful and avoid causing any harm. But simple tips on what toothpaste to use and how to whiten your teeth can help people care for their dental health.”

Since launching her social media profiles, Ghamari has reached tens of thousands of viewers across multiple platforms. She believes their interaction and engagement with her content can help promote dental hygiene, raise awareness of dental procedures, and change the often negative public perception of dentistry.

This renewed push online was in direct response to the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic. But, since the period began, content creation has become a cornerstone of Gorgeous Smiles’ offering. It is thought to have contributed to a fourfold expansion in the past two years.

“During COVID lockdowns, we had to close down frequently, and there was little demand in Melbourne,” Ghamari explained. “I started posting on TikTok and Instagram and offering free online consultations to prospective patients. To this day, many of our patients still find our clinic first on social media.”

From the beginning of COVID, content on Ghamari’s pages has included live sessions, giveaways, and collaborations with other dentists. Consultations on Zoom now allow patients a no-strings-attached introduction to Gorgeous Smiles’ people and procedures. While, initially, the pandemic may have forced some entrepreneurs out of their comfort zones and areas of expertise, many who adapted have found new opportunities on the other side.
