Africa’s Leading Motivational Magazine, MotiMagz Provides Insight Into Their Mission

Over the years, MotiMagz has gradually evolved into becoming one of Africa’s leading magazines. The magazine is widely regarded as Africa’s #1 motivational magazine for youth empowerment and enterprise. The Hype Magazine’s Life & Style correspondent, Charles Myambo (CM) had a special interview with the MotiMagz CEO, Tinashe Bonde (TB). Below are some excerpts from the interview.

CM: Tinashe, if you had to classify your publication in one sentence,  what would you say?

TB: We are a motivational magazine seeking to tell the African success stories, inspire and motivate people, pushing them to achieve more and do more in their various fields and aspects of life.

CM: You often put an emphasis on always “pushing to achieve”. Why?

TB: That mentality of always “pushing to achieve” has become the lifeline and savior to businesses no matter the size or the area.

CM: For those who are unfamiliar with the magazine, what is the type of content you provide?

TB: Articles like Feature stories, Interviews, Business Plans, Success beginnings and not forgetting sustainability in your trade, these all are found both on the website and monthly publications cast unto the public for consumption.

CM: Walk us through your progression as a brand.

TB: Since the year 2018 MotiMagz has improved in many facets such as our overall publication, article writing, staff members and even our eye-catching covers. The launch seemed small but going back to how it came about our vision wound up receiving great recognition in the African sector.

CM: Still on the subject of progression, what have been the key components in your ascent over the years?

TB: We have an amazing team and without them, none of this would be possible. That said, the general day to day operations of MotiMagz are spearheaded by myself, Tinashe Bonde. I’m simply a young man aiming to push businesses and entrepreneurs to heights that are in recognition of both the public in their respective countries and beyond.

CM: How would you want the world at large to perceive MotiMagz?

TB: We would love the world to see us as a wealth hub of business and personal development information, resources, real & practical advice, stories, and the beautiful face of Africa. We inspire and motivate Africans by sharing different success stories, knowledge, tips, interviews, and features across personal and business development”

CM: Your brand has several holistic motives and initiatives. That said, what would you outline as your primary focus areas?

TB: The website pushes to attain the authentic “African child” stories that seek to inspire another African that not all is lost, it does not need one to be in the remote areas but the ones in the civil sectors who seem to be forgotten in midst of all commotion of inspiration and motivation.

CM: You have spoken at length about progression, could you give us some examples of initiatives you put in place to achieve this?

TB: The magazine has since the end of 2020 grown to improve its sources by finding the upcoming and successful businesses and entrepreneurs that are young and making a name for themselves despite any and whatever circumstances are around.

CM: Aside from fulfilling your noble obligation to empower African youths, what other facets of the magazine excite you?

TB: I’d probably highlight the business aspect because good revenue is essential for enhancing the quality of life of all my staff members and partners. 2022 is the year that is proving to push the brand to both a money making machine and a vision set by its executives to draw more people to the stories of Africans set by Africans.

CM: We have explored several positive things in this interview which I truly enjoyed. The interview wouldn’t be complete without hearing a bit about the adversity you may have encountered over the years as a business. Could you highlight a few hurdles you’ve faced?

TB: As a content hub there is no one who is not prone to the downs of the media sector. During the pandemic, most businesses including ours suffered losses and hardships. The key thing for us was to continue pushing despite the circumstances. We are fortunate to have an amazing team. However, there are also opportunities which open up when things go bad. With the pandemic hitting the world, unemployment skyrocketed but in the same vain, small businesses started to grow more. Ever since that, many people seem to be running towards creating all businesses and a good read like MotiMagz is proving resourceful and advantageous to those seeking motivation or better yet inspiration as they chase their aspirations/ambitions.
