Live Session with celebrated battle blogger and show host Jay Blac who, when URL returns to New York November 6th at Irving Plaza for the first time since 2016, with Harlem mastermind Murda Mook vs. the lyrical wizard from Compton Geechi Gotti as headliners for the “Homecoming” event, will be the host of this epic card of battles. Blac, who is well-respected within the battle rap arena himself, will lead the contestants through their paces and weigh in with the judges as this epic event portends to be the ULTIMATE homecoming experience of the season…no shade on any of the colleges out there!!! The event will air live on the URL TV channel of Caffeine TV.

In this Live Session, Jay Blac and France of the Let’s Talk Battle Rap podcast, two seasoned pros from the battle media space, take us through the importance of this event, shine some light on the history of URL and other leagues and discuss some of the epic battles from recent times. France, brought into the conversation by Jay Blac as the penultimate historian and fact-checker, gave us some in-depth details on the rise of the URL league and some defining battles and we ALL weighed in on the importance of this bastion of Hip Hop that ensures lyricists live up to the standard to be actually given that title. I promise you this conversation got lively and for me, heightened my excitement to watch the slate of lyrical missile slingers on the card this Sunday…tune in!!!
