Meet Socialite and Media Personality, Miss Velencia Jones Who’s Taking Champagne to a Whole New Vibe.

One of the best things to come out of COVID, at least for Velencia Jones, was a podcast that keeps getting better all the time.

The lockdowns in 2020 led her to try something new, simple, and fun: interview people while drinking champagne with them, starting with her friends and then inviting entertainers, musicians, and other amazing people to join her in an informal and supportive setting.

“Champagne & Conversations” caught on fast and not only is still going strong, and has also attracted a lot of attention.

“We just hosted our first live podcast in New York City,” said Valencia Jones, the podcast entrepreneur who goes by Vee or ChampagnEnvee. “We were in a VIP suite and had amazing conversations with media legend Jamie Foster Brown, Charisse Jordan from Real Housewives of Potomac, and other female sports celebrities. It was a great night!”

The live podcast, called Diamonds in Sports, was held in partnership with Women Inside Pro Sports, under the leadership of Jazette English, president. The event also helped celebrate the 10th anniversary of WIPS.

Velencia Jones said other good things are in the works for her and for the show, including an official line of “Champagne & Conversations’ ‘ branded bubbly.

“We started working on curating this line a few years ago, but COVID slowed us down,” she said. “But now, we’re being strategic and creative on how to bring it to market.”

The champagne line will be called GLO, and is the first of GLO products that hopefully will be out next year.

She admits she’s busier than she was a few years ago with all of her community projects.

“I’m rarely able to remain in the creative space anymore like I used to because the day-to-day duties usually require so much time,” she said. “During COVID, we were all at home and had to slow down and not go anywhere.”

But she’s certainly excited that her “for fun” COVID project at the time continues to grow, touch people’s lives, and provide a fun way to connect with so many people.

“My strategy here – and my advice to others — has always been ‘do what feels good,’ and mix in passion, in order to produce something you’re proud of,” she said. “The passion allows you to keep working at your goal, and keep growing.”

Doing a podcast properly – and other tasks., from running a business to being a good parent and grandmother, does require similar skills.

“The first is to stay creative, and then multitask well, then be able to focus well on growing our brand,” she said.

Another skill she continues to work on is simply to listen to and learn from other experts in the field.

“We all love the arts here, and we love studying and talking to artists and musicians and hearing their stories,” Velencia Jones said. “Sometimes we get to interview current talent, sometimes it’s legacy stars and former icons.”

She has a list of dream guests, from Tina Turner to Madonna. Getting to talk to Alicia Keys or Missy Elliott wouldn’t be terrible either.
