Andre Jean Pierre Explains The Decision Behind Launching Aces Advisors While Leaving Behind a 7-Figure Career

To celebrate “Black History Month”, it seemed fitting to interview a person who has dedicated his life’s work to serving the black community. That person decided to leave a blossoming 7-figure career in order to launch a company that he believed would be more effective in representing people of color, especially African Americans. Still only in his mid 30s, Andre Jean Pierre has effectively established himself as one of the foremost investment advisors, worldwide. His impact has been most prevalent among African Americans who comprise the group of people most in need of investment opportunities in the USA. Andre has helped transform the wealth status of countless clients of his, predominantly among minorities. He was even recognized as the “Leading Black Wealth Advisor” during his tenure at Morgan Stanley. Above all, he is the founder of the highly esteemed Aces Advisors which is geared towards black empowerment through providing top tier wealth management services. The Hype Magazine’s Life & Style correspondent, Charles Myambo (CM) had an interview with Andre Jean Pierre (AP). Below are some excerpts from the interview.

Leading Black Advisor – “Andre Jean Pierre”

CM: Your rise to prominence over the past decade has been quite profound. So Andre, how best would you describe the passion and driving force behind your success?

AP: It’s been an interesting but blessed journey, for sure. I began in the Financial Advising industry with the intention of helping people with no real direction. Growing up, Money was always an issue in my family and community, and I noticed a disconnect between the work that people put in and their lives being fulfilling. After observing the mistakes they made with their limited resources that prevented them from living the lives they deserved, I decided I needed to help. As I progressed through my early career and met various influential mentors, I realized that it is critical not only to help, but to do so in the right way at the right time.

CM: You have had the distinguished opportunity to work with several A-List celebrities ranging from top NBA athletes all the way up to various industry tycoons. How would you classify your role(s) working with public figures?

AP: I treat my high-profile clients with the same courtesy and discretion that I do all my professional clients. All of our services, however, are tailored to the individual and their family. For example, an athlete whose peak earning years will be in their twenties should approach their finances with a plan that will protect them financially for the next 60 years, not just when they are high profile. However, I am seeing a trend of younger athletes and entertainers pursuing second careers, which allows for more sustainable financial planning and management. 70% of professional athletes go bankrupt after retiring; my clients will always be among the 30% who do not.

CM: It’s important to note that you had a vastly successful stint at Morgan Stanley. Could you briefly describe your transition from the role you had at Morgan Stanley into your current occupation as the founder and leader of Aces Advisors?

AP: My time at the Large Wall Street firm where I worked was crucial in teaching me not only the science of investing, but also the art of wealth management. Nowadays, I believe that 80% of the science can be studied online if one digs deep enough, but the art of personal and business wealth management was another curriculum I gained on Wall Street that I am not sure I could have learned anywhere else. Nevertheless, I felt that in order to accomplish the kind of job I came into the profession to do, to actually make a difference in the communities I am compelled to empower, I needed to reinvent a section of the machine, which is why I founded Aces Advisors.

CM: Aces Advisors has rapidly become associated with top tier financial services and transactional efficacy. What were your aspirations when you first launched AA?

AP: We have been getting more traction in the BiPOC and black wealth management space because more and more people want to work with a Black Financial Advisor that is also a fiduciary. A big part of working with people in the world of investing is being able to communicate with them, and I did foresee success. I would not have left a seven figure career without thinking so, but maybe not at the velocity we are seeing today.

CM: It is currently “Black History Month”. What is the significance of Black History Month to you personally and how would you describe your experience as an African-American man in your industry?

AP: Great Question, I honestly feel so blessed to be able to do what I love and work with so many amazing people and organizations as a Black Man from the inner city of NYC. Myself and people like me are standing on the shoulders of giants that lead the way in the past , and it’s important for me and others like me to lay the foundation for the next generations after us.
