Murphy Lee on the New Murph His ‘2nd Time Around’

In this Live Session with St. Louis music pioneer Murphy Lee of the world-famous St.Lunatics, we get into his new “2nd Time Around” project available only via the online store on his site. The project celebrates a new musicality from Murph with the warmth of some classic stylings comingled with his signature storytelling and delivery. The project is bold and full-flavored, I’m digging this “new Murph”.

Murphy Lee

Murph is a busy man and he’s taken his branded show on the road, so we dug in a bit on the Murphy Lee Experience Tour which took off last October. The mission and theme of the tour are described in a post from his site thusly, With his brother, KyJuan (also a Tic), by his side, the duo is pulling in everything they love and having fun with it. Murphy Lee is known for delivering phenomenal flows and manipulative metaphors, which hasn’t changed. Add the St. Lunatics, two headline comedians, a national live band, a solidified DJ, and a sprinkle of Hip Hop and R&B performances from talented humans, and you get The Murphy Lee Experience.

While we didn’t get a date for the 2023 run of the Murphy Lee Experience, I got the understanding it’s an ongoing and growing movement led by the pioneer to bring variety back to the stage. Tried and true concept with a modern yet respectful package…stay tuned to the tour site for updates!

Of course, we touched on the state of Hip Hop during our conversation which moved us in an interesting line as we hit on the fact we’re in the 50th year of the culture. I could keep typing but why, Tune in to the conversation below!
