Meet GloRilla, the Tennessee-raised rapper who’s taking the Hip Hop world by storm, and MTV PUSH has crowned her as the Featured Global PUSH Artist for the blazing month of September.

From Viral Sensation to Platinum Success
In a whirlwind turn of events, GloRilla committed herself to the rap game full-time in 2021, and by 2022, she was setting the internet on fire with her viral hit “FNF (Let’s Go).” This musical wildfire caught the attention of none other than Memphis legend Yo Gotti, who swiftly signed her to his Collective Music Group imprint. Not content with just one hit, GloRilla dropped the 2x Platinum single “Tomorrow 2” featuring none other than Cardi B, which skyrocketed into the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10.
But that wasn’t the pinnacle of her achievements; she went on to release her debut EP, “Anyways, Life’s Great…” under CMG/Interscope Records, marking it as the most significant label debut EP from a female rapper in three years. The accolades just kept coming, with nominations at the American Music Awards, The GRAMMYs, and a nod for “Breakthrough Artist” at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards. She’s also graced the stages of renowned music festivals, leaving audiences awestruck and wanting more.

Growing Up in Memphis, Tennessee
“Growing up when I was a little child in school, I always wanted to be an actress, like I loved Meagan Good, Taraji [P. Henson], Lauren London… I was homeschooled, and when I got into school, I was quiet at first. By the time I got to sixth grade I was outspoken, like I had like I came out of my shell, and ever since then, I was always an outspoken child.”
First Steps on the Stage
“My first performance was at a talent show in Memphis… My cousin was with me, it was the talent show, and I was so scared. But then I just got up there and I just performed, and it just, it felt natural. I was just hype. And I was like if you’re going to do it, you got to go out there and do it, and I did it.”
The Creative Process
“Today, I really like to record, like how I used to before I blew up. When I go into the studio, and I listen to beats, it be cool, but it’s like for some reason I get writer’s block and I can’t think, so I write better when I listen to the beats, when I’m just sitting on the balcony or riding around in a car. I listen to the beats and the lyrics come to me faster.”
