0Kt Foreign “Stay Down” ft. Juice Lee: Pimp Hop Makes Another Mainstream Breakthrough
For decades, Pimp Hop has continuously impacted the mainstream music scene, led by some of the most prominent Pimp Hop Rappers hailing from the West Coast, including Juice Lee, Kt Foreign, Larry June, Suga Free, Sietegang, Mike Sherm, Fenix Flexin, and Yung X. Representing the South, artists like Ralo the P, Mac Roosta, and Mista Gee are gaining recognition, while on the East Coast, Tax G and Pastor Pills are making their mark. Notably, Serious Jones, a legendary battle rapper from the East Coast, has transitioned his focus to Pimp Hop.
Juice Lee, CEO of Juice Division Records, expresses confidence in the genre’s mainstream breakthrough with the release of the new single “Stay Down,” a collaboration between himself and Kt. Lee emphasizes the meticulous effort put into ensuring that the single represents the genre at its best on a mainstream level.
“Our new single ‘Stay Down’ is the track that will propel Pimp Hop into the mainstream. It wasn’t created overnight. We had to ensure that it truly reflects the essence of our genre at a mainstream level,” says Juice Lee.
The single “Stay Down” is independently released by Juice Division Records and Paul Ring’s Bungalo Music and Film, a division of Universal Music Group. Paul Ring, a GRAMMY Award-winning and multi-platinum pioneer in the West Coast music industry for over two decades, has been instrumental in shaping the genre’s landscape. Bungalo Records, under Ring’s leadership, has introduced West Coast legends like DJ Quick, Suga Free, and Mack 10, among others. Additionally, the label distributed The Game’s 5x platinum “Stop Snitching Stop Lying” DVD, aimed at 50 Cent, during their infamous rivalry following The Game’s departure from G Unit.
