Who Is Najeezus Khrist?

Rising talent Najeezus Khrist is a creative recording artist who wants to impact the world with his music. He recently released his first solo album titled “7” and it’s available on all music platforms.

In an interview with Najeezus Khrist, he shared what inspired his songs on his album and what major artists he would love to work with.

Jae Monique: When did you get started in music?

Najeezus Khrist: I got started in recording music during my freshman year in high school with my original group (B.H.M) Been Had Money. My brothers and I developed an addiction to writing until I perfected my craft as a solo artist expressing my diversity lyrically.

JM: What inspired your songs on your EP 7?

Khrist: The fact that I was too gifted to let my talents sit on the shelf inspired me to return to music with my first solo project Seven.

JM: How would you like your music to impact the world?

Khrist: I would like my music to impact the world by inspiring as many people as possible to stay true to themselves and to stay focused in the face of adversity.

JM: What sets you apart from other hip-hop artists?

Khrist: What sets me apart from other artists is I never put myself in a genre box. This leaves the door open for me to be as diverse as possible with free creative control with my material and straying away from the norm.

JM: What are your favorite songs from your album? And why?

Khrist: My first favorite song is “Worship” because it’s featuring my daughter and the EP was released on her 7th birthday. My second favorite track is the entire album due to the fact that I put a lot of blood, sweat, and dedication into it. It’s almost like you can feel every track and see every picture that I painted.

JM: If you had the opportunity, what artist would you love to work with?

Khrist: If I had the choice to work with five artists, it would be… Kid Cudi, Cyhi the Prince, Andre 3k, Black Thought, and Kanye West.

About Najeezus Khrist:
Najeezus Khrist, born Najee Woolfolk, is from Fort Valley Georgia. He developed a love for music at a very young age. He was born and raised in the south, but the free-flowing style came naturally after a childhood of freestyling with his mother and listening to various forms of music such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Talib Kweli, Nirvana, and the Dungeon Family. It was only natural that the blood in his veins would freeze and turn to the coldest lyrics. It wasn’t until elementary that he actually blessed a stage and performed at a school talent show. His love for wordplay grew even stronger. Over the next few years, his wicked writing skills eventually started to haunt him at night, causing him to get no sleep and that’s where insomnia, Dracula style, smooth voice came from. Now, this microphone martial artist is spreading a message to raise awareness on knowledge of self and repair the confidence of the broken through his raw and rugged lyrics.
