0Wings Host Pride Night June 20 Presented by Toyota and Keurig Dr Pepper
The Dallas Wings will host the team’s annual Pride Night on June 20 against the Phoenix Mercury, presented by Toyota and Keurig Dr. Pepper.
“We are honored to once again present our Pride Night celebration,” Dallas Wings President & CEO Greg Bibb stated. “This year’s event will feature an important panel discussion that will headline an evening of activities focused on diversity and inclusion. The June 20 programming underscores the importance our organization puts on equality and inclusion for all and we are grateful to our partners for supporting this special evening.”
New to this year’s festivities is a pregame speaker series at College Park Center from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. that focuses on celebrating the LGBTQ community through activities that empower fans and members of the DFW community to share their voices and create a more inclusive environment for all.
“Toyota is proud to be a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ community,” said Toyota General Manager of Diversity and Inclusion Stephen Lewis. “Our commitment extends to national and local engagements, policies and community partnerships. It is a commitment that has earned us a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index for 12 years in a row, and a reason why we have been recognized as one of the top companies for LGBTQ employees by DiversityInc.”
The evening’s speakers include: Anthony Chambers, Head of Diversity of Keurig Dr Pepper; Elizabeth Rodriguez, Human Rights Campaign (HRC) National Board of Governors; Lisa Howe, Membership Development Advisor for the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce; Stacey Monroe, DFW Regional Coordinator for Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT) and Brandon Mosley, Dealer Training & Performance Strategy Manager of Toyota.
“I congratulate the Dallas Wings for embracing Pride Night and their LGBTQ fan base,” Howe said. “Treating ALL players, employees, and customers with dignity and respect is good for business and the right way to build a successful program.”
“It’s excellent that the Dallas Wings are having their first-ever speaker series on Pride Night,” Monroe said. “This presents a unique opportunity for me to help spread awareness on the issues that the transgender community faces and educate the community on how to become a better ally. It also helps to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion for the LGBTQ community and all marginalized communities.”
The event will be moderated by Jessica Taylor, Diversity & Inclusion External Engagement of Toyota.
