BMI highlights Dance Music with new genre page and playlist series
Since 1939 Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) (@bmi), has been a welcoming arm to music creators from all walks. It’s only fitting that this global leader celebrates EDM as the worldwide disruptor of the music world. It was once that Hip Hop was the most exciting addition in synch placements and even bred a couple “Rappin’ Granny” characters. EDM is the new force impacting pretty much every aspect of music including Country. In Hip Hop producer battles, EDM riffs, Dubstep in particular often appear as the WOW factor.

This month’s edition features an interview with singer-songwriter Karra. Having gotten her start penning and performing top lines for electronic dance music heavy-hitters like Breathe Carolina, JDG, Metrik, Jackal, Reid Stefan and more, New Jersey native-turned-L.A.-transplant, Karra turned her love of pop and EDM into her own distinctive career, releasing music on prestigious labels like Dim Mak, Monstercat, and Spinnin’ Records. While she’s continuing to record and release her own music, you can hear her most recent work on a collaboration with Feenixpawl and APEK called “Quicksand.” Listen to BMI’s Dance Playlist on Spotify below:
