Rockets Edge Out The Mavericks By Seven

James Harden led the way with a double-double tallying 25 points, 13 assists, and adding five rebounds. Trevor Ariza had a solid outing with 23 points on 8-17 from the floor with four rebounds. Eric Gordon, dropped 17 points off the bench, while Clint Capela and Chris Paul chipped in a combined 28 points in their 104-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Giving them their fourth straight victory.

After the game Rocket’s coach, Mike D’Antoni talked his team having a little bit of a let down on the defensive end. After the first quarter, the Rockets went 10-14 from the three-point line and with 1:33 left in the third they were 17-42 from three. D’Antoni said that as many as you make in the first thermostat resets and the percentage drops and you have to weather that storm. He would continue to say “It is human nature to have a little bit of a letdown, but overall the performance was good. The Mavericks do a lot of switching with their athletes, and you have to have to finish them off while your up.

As for the Mavericks, Wesley Matthews led all scorers with 29 points on 10-18 shots while adding five assists and four rebounds. Yogi Ferrell provided a solid outing off the bench with 19 points and four assists. Dennis Smith Jr. did not have a good outing he was 3-11 from the floor with 11 points and six assists. Harrison Barnes chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.  As for the future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki, he finished with Seven points.

Here is what coach Mike D’Antoni has to say about coaching against Dirk. ” He has beaten me up a couple time on the court. He had a remarkable career and good for the game. It is obvious he still love it.”

The Dallas Mavericks next game will be against the Portland Trailblazers and their 3-time All-Star Damian Lillard on Friday at the American Airlines Center.
