Women In Radio Dinner Kicks Off Women’s History Month in South Florida

This past weekend Women in Radio, an organization that was created to provide support for the advancement of women seeking careers within the radio industry, kicked off Women’s History Month with their 2nd Annual Women in Radio Dinner.

Over 150 women from across the country gathered in South Florida to celebrate each other and their one common goal for success in the radio profession. From sales to programming to promotions to on-air personalities, these dynamic women came together to network with each other, learn from each other, and to acquire the right skill set to further their careers in the radio game.

The highlight of the evening was an open and honest intimate panel discussion that included distinguished radio vets like Georgia Beasley, the Director of TopicPulse Strategic Initiatives at Futuri Media, Supa Cindy, a popular radio personality on WEDR 99 Jamz, Elizabeth Hamma, the VP/Market Manager at Alpha Media West Palm Beach, Stichiz, a popular radio personality on 103.5 The Beat, and Sondra Rae, a popular radio personality on XL 106.7 FM.

The evening concluded with a special performance from Slip N Slide Records recording artist, Teenear.

“I’m elated that we’re able to bring another dinner to Miami and celebrate women in the radio industry,” says Meaghan Taylor, Founder of Women in Radio LLC, and Women in Radio Gives Inc.

It’s no secret that the radio industry is a very competitive, male dominated industry that lacks diversity. The Women in Radio organization was created for this reason. It was created as a safe haven of support for women pursing careers in radio and the organization strives to continue to develop amazing experiences for women in this industry.
