0Laura Cox On Her New Album “Burning Bright,” Her Guitar Influences, Future Plans & More
Known for playing high-voltage rock & roll with an occasional hard-blues feel — think AC/DC, Danko Jones, Halestorm and Joan Jett, mixed with Southern rock influences — Laura Cox is a rising guitar hero. Cox’s latest album Burning Bright was released last month via earMUSIC, as recorded at the legendary ICP Studios and mastered by the great Howie Weinberg (Aerosmith, Oasis, The White Stripes). Burning Bright offers 10 explosive rock songs which showcase the incredibly-talented, Paris-based artist. “Freaking Out Loud” is the latest single released from the aforementioned Burning Bright album, and its accompanying music video features vampires, zombies and airplanes.
On November 18th, I had the pleasure of speaking with Laura Cox herself by phone. Cox answered a variety of questions about her career, including her guitar heroes, when we may see her live in the United States and where she’s at with writing a third studio album. The full interview is embedded below for your listening pleasure, in addition to the “Freaking Out Loud” music video, while more on Cox can be found online at www.ear-music.net and www.lauracoxband.com.
