KICCC Releases His First Album, The Water Knows

Singer-songwriter KICCC has dropped his first full-length album, The Water Knows. It consists of two instrumentals and eight tracks including his previously released singles “Here,” “Control,” “Wine,” and “Iced Tea.” Blending a variety of genres such as pop, alternative, and soft R&B, the album explores his journey of self-exploration and self-development. As the name suggests, there is a recurring theme of water in each track, which is perfectly complemented by touching lyrics, dreamy melodies as well as KICCC’s soft vocals.

KICCC has also released three well-produced music videos for three of the songs off of the album: “Here,” “Control,” and the title track “Wine.” The videos are meant to be watched as a 3-part trilogy and each encapsulates KICCC confronting his personal struggles with his lusts, dreams, vulnerabilities, and loneliness. The gripping story, stunning scenes, and excellent acting have a direct influence on making the songs feel much rawer and more vivid.

Carson Cheng a.k.a KICCC (pronounced: kick) is a Canadian-Chinese singer who broke out as a solo artist in 2019. He always had an interest in releasing his own music but had been previously focused on his acting career. While working in Hong Kong and Macau he was given the opportunity to branch out as a singer when requested by Eun Ooh Park a.k.a “NewNew”, veteran entertainer and K-Pop producer, to collaborate on and translate her single, “Birds.” From there on, KICCC began writing his own music and working with producer ENAN and video production company Timelapse to release unique musical experiences. The music video for his first single “Here” won multiple awards including the Ooh! Macau MV Awards for including Best Music Video, Best Plot, and others. He is credited with the lyrics and vocals for the OST for LOOKISM, a popular Chinese drama in 2019. KICCC’s music is his means to communicate with the rest of the world and with every track and visual, fans can expect to experience a cinematic peek into every side of him.
