0Exclusive: Bellator MMA’s Liz Carmouche Comments After Her KO Victory At “Bellator 261”
Bellator is a leading global MMA and kickboxing promotion featuring many of the best athletes in the world. Under the direction of veteran fight promoter Scott Coker, Bellator events take place in major cities around the world and can be seen on television in over 160 countries to an available audience of over 1 billion people. In the States, Bellator events from all over the world can be seen on Showtime — a new TV deal announced earlier this year — and online via Pluto TV and Bellator’s YouTube channel.
Beyond last night’s Bellator 261 event, one of the main Bellator happenings that has people talking is the long-anticipated return of “The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko. Earlier today it was announced by Bellator President Scott Coker that Emelianenko will fight at an October 23, 2021 card at Moscow, Russia’s VTB Arena. This will be Emelianenko’s first MMA fight since December 2019, when he defated Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at Bellator 237. It will also be Bellator’s first ever live event in Russia.
On the Bellator 261 fight itself, Liz “Girlrilla” Carmouche had people talking with her 35-second knockout of Kana Watanabe in the co-main event. Carmouche’s previous 2 bouts for Bellator at Bellator 246 and Bellator 256 were also impressive victories for the San Diego-based flyweight. In turn, Carmouche seems to be in active pursuit of championship gold within the Bellator MMA ranks.
