0Maxim On His “Hope” EP & Art Exhibit, The Prodigy’s Future Plans, Musical Influences & More
Prodigy vocalist, MC and frontman Maxim first found international success in the music realm in the early 1990s. Art was originally a means of winding down between tours with The Prodigy, but Maxim has since cemented his reputation as an acclaimed mixed media artist and designer. His mixed-media series called Hope is available to view and experience online via his website, in addition to being on display at London’s new 99 Projects gallery. The series is a powerful and poignant collaboration with artist Dan Pearce, as born out of the (on-going) COVID-19 pandemic.
For Hope, Maxim and Dan Pearce spent over a year creating this ambitious, multi-platform collaboration, which is inspired by the “Hope” that everybody is clinging onto as we gradually ease out of the devastation wreaked by COVID-19. The pieces demonstrate Pearce’s skills in 3D modeling and Maxim’s experience floating objects in resin. The physical exhibit opened on May 20th and will run through June 7, 2021. The pieces on display are also available to purchase through Maxim’s website, while select proceeds from the project will ultimately benefit NHS Charities Together and YoungMinds.
Hope is also tied in with a 4-track EP of the same name by Maxim. We spoke about the Hope EP, his fine art career and plenty more within our June 3, 2021 conversation over Zoom, as embedded below. More on Maxim and Hope can be found by clicking here, here, here and here.
