Constantine Maroulis & Kendra Erika On Their New Single “As Long As You’re Mine,” Broadway, Television, Howard Stern & More
Constantine Maroulis first came to prominence as “the beloved rock n’ roll underdog” on American Idol. He then secured his place in pop culture as a Broadway superstar, turning heads within his Tony-nominated role in Rock Of Ages. These days, Maroulis keeps busy as an actor, a recording artist and a father; his latest album is the 2020 full-length Until I’m Wanted, his first full-length in about a decade. Dark State was Constantine Maroulis’ latest film, as released theatrically in March and to VOD outlets in May via Lucca Films in association with Creative Partners International, Realize Studios and the Atlas Distribution Company. Stage, screen and studio aside, Maroulis is the host of the weekly Cuz Saturday Night Rocks! radio show on staple New York City-based radio station WABC.
South Florida pop singer-songwriter Kendra Erika got her start in musical theater before scoring 5 Top 10 dance hits, including “Self Control” — which reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart — and current Top 10 UK dance hit “So Fly.” Erika and Maroulis have collaborated on a new single, a dance version of “As Long As You’re Mine” from Wicked, to help celebrate Wicked and 40+ other productions coming back to Broadway this fall. The track was supervised and co-produced by Broadway star and Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Rocktopia singer Rob Evan, who is perhaps best known for starring in Jekyll & Hyde on Broadway for over 1000 performances, as well as co-producer Giuseppe D. (Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston). New single aside, Erika is scheduled to release a new album later this year on her own label Oystershell Music, as distributed globally via industry leader Symphonic Distribution.
On September 14, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with both Constantine Maroulis — our second interview in 2021 — and Kendra Erika via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Maroulis, Erika, their various projects and “As Long As You’re Mine” can be found by clicking here, here and here.
