Live Session With Comedian Mona Shaikh Creator of the Rising Comedy Series Minority Reportz

To be honest, I’m not certain where to start with this one, Mona Shaikh is such a dynamic personality with an incredible story of intestinal fortitude that there is no way I can put into words how impacted I was by our conversation. Originally from Pakistan, Mona’s story encompasses surviving a tumultuous and abusive childhood from a conservative Muslim Pakistani family to surviving a hate crime against her person here in America which put her in the hospital and required surgery. On top of all that, being a woman she’s dealt with the BS of trying to work her way through the entertainment industry maze without compromising herself and selling her soul to make it. That’s about as politically correct as I can say that *ish…bottom line sexual harassment was and still is at times part of the equation and so our heroine decided to make her own mark by producing events and a highly successful comedy series called Minority Reportz.

As a matter of fact, I did this piece on a priority basis because Minority Reportz: Desi Girls Night Out is part of the New York Comedy Festival beginning TONIGHT and I wanted you all to have the tune in alert! The second show is on Saturday, November 13th and you can get tickets for BOTH shows at MinorityReportz.com

Wednesday, November 10,2021    West Side Comedy Club   201 West 75thStreet, NY,NY   Doors Open at 7:30 PM

Saturday, November 13,2021  The Cave at 21 A Clinton Street, NY,NY, Doors Open 9:30 PM

You know I wanted to do this whole feature story and attempt to put into words what really only Mona can iterate with the proper intensity so I think I’ll stop typing now and let you meet her for yourself…this interview rapidly evolved into a conversation in which Mona pulls back the veil on an industry most of us just think of for the entertainment…there’s some garbage going on in the comedy industry as well. Mona shares not only her travails but her triumphs as well with equal power and elegance. Oh and we had fun too so tune in!
