Asia Jackson On “Bear Witness, Take Action 3,” Future Project Plans, Television & More

YouTube Originals are award-winning series, specials and livestream events for YouTube’s 2 billion active monthly users that entertain, inspire, connect and educate audiences through authentic storytelling from YouTube creators, music artists and celebrities. By tapping into the platform’s growing global community, fan engagement product capabilities, and innovative content, YouTube Originals amplify the most popular and unique aspects of YouTube. Recently, YouTube Originals announced the lineup of YouTube creators, public figures, activists and influential voices for Bear Witness, Take Action 3, a 6-part special event series hosted by Common and Keke Palmer.

The Bear Witness, Take Action 3 episode titled “Tracing the Trend” is pesented by YouTube star Asia Jackson. Within the episode, Jackson explores hip-hop culture’s influence on Asian culture. She interviews artist Guapdad 4000 and experts Sophia Chang and Danyel Smith to analyze the origins of popular hip-hop trends across music and fashion in an attempt to give credit where credit is due. YouTube aside, Jackson is an actress and founder of the SKNFLUENCR, a digital media platform that explores beauty and fashion at the intersection of race, identity and culture. Smart yet entertaining.

On December 10, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with Asia Jackson via Zoom, as embedded below. Beyond Bear Witness, Take Action 3, we spoke about her multi-faceted career as a content-creator, future plans for her work-wise, and what she is watching on television these days. More on Jackson, SKNFLUENCR and/or Bear Witness, Take Action 3 can be found by clicking here, here and here.
