Talisk Runs the House at Irish Fest 23 – Live Session

Hailing from Scotland, Talisk, a dynamic three-piece ensemble held court at Irish Fest and set the tone for a powerful evening at the capped-out Miller Light stage at the iconic Crown Center. Easing into a set that soon brought the crowd front of the house to get the full effect of the trio’s powerful musical offerings. Though based on traditional Celtic Folk Music, I PROMISE this is anything like we’ve ever heard and the eclectic mashup of sounds Talisk brings of traditional songs juxtaposed with tinges of power Rock, punk, and heavy bottom delivered an irresistible call to the crowd to get to their feet!

Backstory: Talisk, which gets its name from a Gaelic word meaning ‘land of the cliff‘ began in 2014 and found immediate success, winning the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and Folk Band of the Year at the 2017 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. Current members are Mohsen Amini, Benedict Morris, and Graeme Armstrong.
