Cheflodeezy Talks “Ecstasy” – A Miami Fusion Extravaganza

In the mesmerizing visuals of his 2023 underground hit “She Don’t Belong to Me,” Cheflodeezy takes center stage on a four-wheeled motorcycle, defying gravity with jaw-dropping stunts. Popping wheelies and spinning in circles, he mirrors the unbridled energy and risk-taking spirit evident in his performances. The metaphorical power of his engine, coupled with his unwavering stability, assures fans that Cheflodeezy is a force to be reckoned with and will never crash.

The Grounded Miami Force: Cheflodeezy’s Unique Legacy

What grounds this dynamic artist? Beyond his undeniable talent, imaginative prowess, and collaborative skills, Cheflodeezy stands as the torchbearer of one of hip-hop’s great traditions: the Miami rapper. Miami rappers don’t fall; they rise.

“Ecstasy”: A Fusion Fiesta

In his latest single, “Ecstasy,” Cheflodeezy showcases his exceptional ability to juggle and seamlessly blend styles. The track is a scorching fusion of American hip-hop, Afrobeats, and the vibrant sounds of Nigerian pop, Dancehall, and Reggae – all expertly melded and seared under the scorching Miami sun. Modern production techniques and vocal processing amplify the experience, but Cheflodeezy’s rhymes retain the raw thrill of a spontaneous Caribbean beachside party.

Collaborative Brilliance with TeeJay

In the first verse, Cheflodeezy unleashes urgency and economy, establishing himself as a standout in South Florida’s independent music scene. He then hands over the mic to Jamaican sensation TeeJay, renowned for his summer hit “Drift.” Their collaboration is seamless, with one delivering rambunctious fire and urgency, and the other offering a cool, melodic counterpoint.

Visual Symphony: “Ecstasy” Music Video

In Steven Bernard’s visual masterpiece for “Ecstasy,” Cheflodeezy immerses viewers in the vibrant essence of Miami. Neon signs and a neon palm tree set the backdrop as the rapper delivers his verses with a commanding presence. The camera captures him in a dream world of light refraction, navigating a corridor made of brilliant silver foil. A trio of dancers adds visual echoes, responding to the pulsating beat, synthesizers, and Cheflodeezy’s gritty delivery. The journey culminates in a long tunnel of pure white light – a fitting metaphor for the exhilarating acceleration of the music.

The young lion weighed in on a few things below!

What made you want to become a musician?

Growing up, seeing other musicians perform and engage with an audience was so cool to me. I wanted to do it.

Throughout your career, what role has your family played?

They’ve been supportive every step of the way. They are definitely in my corner.

Could you tell us a little about your creative process? Where do you usually find inspiration from?

For me, inspiration comes from real life and personal experiences. This includes trauma, good times, and bad times. I use everything we go through as individuals as part of my story because it’s so real and direct.

How do you approach fusing together so many different genres in your music, such as reggae, hip-hop, and Afrobeat?

I approach it with an open mind. I don’t limit myself or my creative process. In every recording or writing session, I aim for max creativity in whatever genre I am working on or the ones I am mashing up. I am also a fan of all three genres, so that makes it even easier.

What was the inspiration behind writing “Ecstacy”?

I wanted a party song for people to vibe to. Once I heard the beat, I took off from there.

Which line from “Ecstacy” is your favorite?

She coulda keepa, mek mi show you weh di baller do.” It’s a soccer reference. The aim is always to score.

What can we look forward to next from you?

I am dropping two new albums at the same time soon, in two different genres. One is dancehall and afrobeat, and the other is rap.
