Entertainment Icon Birdman Talks Partnering with Nick Cannon and Chris Brown on Cash Money Films Debut ‘She Ball’
Music legend Birdman in a one-on-one with The Hype Magazine discusses the debut project from Cash Money Films alongside movie vet Nick Cannon and his NCREDIBLE entertainment company. The first of multiple projects in the works between the brands, as told to us by the icon, “She Ball” touches on true to life situations that we have all faced coming up. Birdman also discusses what he learned from working with the professional actors and experiencing Nick Cannon wearing multiple hats as the director, producer, and co-star of the project. Co-produced by Nick Cannon, Birdman and Chris Brown, “She Ball” is an epic tale of triumph over the BS…bottom line.

Kicking off a powerhouse partnership, Cash Money Films and NCREDIBLE recently announced the upcoming film, She Ball, coming to theatres in February 2020. The film announces the union between Nick Cannon who wrote, produced, and directed She Ball, Multi-Platinum icons Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams & Chris Brown who also produced. The trio star alongside some of the most influential entertainers today including Cedric The Entertainer, DC Young Fly, Evan Rose, and Faizon Lovein the movie.
The official line on the film is that it’s an important community-focused project dealing with Race, Gentrification, Criminal Justice and Women Empowerment. “She Ball” tells a story of triumph against all odds as a young female athlete played by Melody Rae Kandil faces trials, tribulations, and triumph on and off the basketball court.
In an earlier statement on the film and working with Birdman and Chris Brown, Nick Cannon, explains, “She Ball, is about community, and the inclusive nature of controlling your own background. It’s a story that doesn’t have any boundaries. It’s a sports movie, it’s a love story, and it’s a comedy. I grew up on movies like Above The Rim, Love & Basketball, and even Save the Last Dance. It has a little bit of a combination of these three movies but with its own message. It’s an action-packed movie that’s full of laughs, but at the end of the day, it’s really just a great story about human connections.

A second trailer showcases the lighter side and some of the humor to expect. Additionally, we’re told to expect news on the official soundtrack, arriving on Cash Money Records/NCREDIBLE.
This marks the first release by Cash Money Films—the production company co-founded by legendary Cash Money Records Co-Founders Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams and Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams. It also kicks off a creative union between Birdman and Nick Cannon that will prove unparalleled in the film world. Building on their longstanding friendship, this also represents their inaugural collaboration together.
