Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds & Dr. Hillary Norton On Treating AS, Pain Management & More

Dan Reynolds — lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling, GRAMMY Award-winning band Imagine Dragons — has earned legions of fans worldwide with sold-out tours and a string of chart-topping songs including “Radioactive” and “Thunder.” While the band dominates the charts, behind the scenes Dan has been living with AS, an inflammatory arthritis of the spine, for more than a decade. After suffering from unexplained back pain for many years, in his early 20s Reynolds was diagnosed with AS, which is part of the axial spondyloarthritis disease spectrum that many people are not familiar with.
Making a difference in AS awareness, Dan Reynolds is the lead spokesperson for Novartis on the Monster Pain In The AS campaign, educating people around the world about unexplained back pain and axSpA. On September 23, 2020, I had the pleasure of speaking with both Reynolds and rheumatologist Dr. Hillary Norton, who also has axSpA, about this disease and more via Zoom.
