Unrated’s Isabel Mitarakis & Nicolas Ruiz M. On Their Recent New York Launch Event, Future Plans, Chilean Wine & More

Unrated is rooted in authenticity and pushing the limits of the classic wine industry. Winemaker Isabel Mitarakis’ passion is reflected in her commitment to producing a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon that is true to the varietal, rather than focusing on scores and rankings. Bold and full of character, Unrated’s wine presents maximum expression of the essence of Cabernet Sauvignon, which transmits its identity and attributes from a different perspective. Its XTRA CAB is a deep, attractive and seductive based blend that is sourced only from “Xtraordinary parcels” of Chile’s Cabernet Sauvignon Estates.

Last month, Unrated hosted a launch event at The Electric Room inside New York City’s Dream Downtown hotel. I had the pleasure of attending this event and meeting both winemaker Isabel Mitarakis and Nicolás Ruiz M., who serves as Marketing VOE for Viña Concha y Toro S.A. The two made it clear that Unrated was built on the notion of “No Rules in Wine.” In turn, Unrated is an innovative wine looking to challenge the traditional wine industry in just about every way possible.

On October 21, 2021, I had the pleasure of speaking with both Isabel Mitarakis and Nicolás Ruiz M. again, this time via Zoom, as embedded below. More on Unrated can be found here, here and here.
