0Live Session with Motown’s Hd4president on New Single ‘Big Booty’ and More
Live Session with breakout Baton Rouge rapper Hd4president who now lives in Houston, to discuss his new single “Big Booty” featuring DJ Chose via Motown Records, his journey, and how he sees himself from the inside looking out, plus we get him to describe the defining moment that made him choose music as a career.
You know him from shaking up the internet with the viral smash “Touch Down 2 Cause Hell (Bow Bow Bow),” which reached the Top 30 on Urban Radio, piled up 20 million-plus streams, and attracted 2 Chainz & Fredo Bang for a high-profile remix. It also exploded on TikTok, inspiring nearly 2 million TikTok creations – including clips from Lizzo, Coi Leray, City Girls, Latto, Niecy Nash, Gabrielle Union, and Jessica Alba – and over 2 billion views on the platform. Earlier this year, HD released his critically acclaimed album Find My Way, for which BET spotlighted him as a ‘Fresh Faces New Artist.’
More than just a party song rapper, Hd4president is an artist with soul and looks forward to showing that side of him in the future. Recognizing that his breakout song set the music world on its ear, he also acknowledges the impact of traditional Hip Hop and says that’s where his heart lies and his excitement on the topic was infectious as this conversation touched on a man that’s not on a microwave stardom-type mission. I enjoyed going behind the veil of this emerging superstar and exploring his hopes and dreams which reflect an aware being who sees the world as it is and not the fantasy woven by the industry. The Hype Magazine has been rockin’ with this young lion for a while now and it was good to catch up…check our previous coverage!
Hd4president just dropped his latest single Big Booty featuring DJ Chose today and it’s a bop for the shall we say…active fuller-figured woman.
More about Hd4president
Hd4president – whose hit “Touch Down 2 Cause Hell (Bow Bow Bow)” became a viral sensation on TikTok – has found joy on the streets of Baton Rouge. His city has long had a rich lineage of rap superstars, producing generations of successes like Kevin Gates and Boosie Badazz (both of whom have offered him mentorship and advice). His forebears have made careers off of poignant tales of life in their neighborhoods, but HD intentionally decided he’s ready to move past the pain in his music while still revealing a depth to his lyricism that transcends viral fame. On his 2021 album, To Da Max, he uses his traumas as stepping stones to the triumphs he raps about on his latest album offering, Find My Way. The latter finds HD continuing his grind with optimism and pausing to celebrate his reputation as both a rapper’s rapper with street cred and a singer with a flair for anthemic shout-along hooks. His music effortlessly walks this tightrope, demonstrating his knack for both colorfully flexing one-liners and arena-ready choruses.
