Live Session with Fredro Starr on His New Talk Show “Behind The Grind”

Live Session with Hip Hop icon Fredro Starr on his new talk show “Behind The Grind” which premiered October 29, 2022, in over 80 million homes via The Impact Network.

“Behind The Grind”, is a limited inspirational talk series with musician, rapper, and actor Fredro Starr (“CSI: NY,” “CSI: Miami” and “The Wire”) that explores what it truly means to be successful. Luminary guests include Sticky Fingaz, Peter Gunz, and Benzino.

On “Behind the Grind,” Fredro—taking the reigns as talk show host—brings the viewers beyond the material tropes of success and goes behind the veil with his guests to explore individual roadmaps of accomplished people and what lessons we can learn from their lives. The series is executive produced and directed by Royal Jackson, and producer, Steve Marcano.

“Making ‘Behind the Grind’ was a passion project for me,” says Fredro Starr. “I can finally check off talk show host from my bucket list with this incredible new show.

This Live Session has a special place for me because nine years almost to the day I interviewed Fredro as one of my first major personalities. I was nervous as hell but he was so cool and gracious and helped me garner the courage to continue doing this…he’s very much appreciated! If you’re curious, you can listen to that interview here.

In this conversation, we not only covered and celebrated his journey in music, but he also gave an insight into how his natural ability to hold a conversation prepared him to step into the arena as a talk show host. According to him, he studied talk show icons Montel and Arsenio, watching how they interact with and guide their guest through the interview, and applied that to his new vocation. I could wax on all day about this amazing lion from the Hip Hop community now giving other stalwarts from the culture a platform to share their experiences, mistakes, and triumphs in the mission to impart knowledge and guidance to the next generation but you should just…tune in!
