Live Session With the West Coast Hip Hop Stalwart Glasses Malone

In this “Live Session” I catch up with the iconic Glasses Malone for a candid discussion about his journey and why he feels his commercial success will be limited even though he’s world travelled and admired in the Hip Hop community. Glasses also discusses his upcoming project Glasshouse (2021) available this Spring which features new music with The Game, Too $hort, Raphael Saadiq, Schoolboy Q and E-40, Cypress Hill, Kurupt, Xzibit, Warren G, Kid Ink, Coolio and Tha Eastsidaz.

His most recent single 6 ‘N the Mornin’ (GMX) is a salute and rework of Ice-T’s foundational gangsta rap joint. This version features brand new verses from Ice-T himself as well as Snoop Dogg, with a massive hook from Ty Dolla $ign.

An artist with soul which comes out in each and every track he laces, Glasses Malone describes to us what gets him excited about music and how he looks at some of the new artists coming up. One artist he’s listening to is Inglewood rapper Lil Deuce who has a song out which has Glasses feels brings the real life experience to music. If you know Glasses and his music, that’s the one thing you can count on is an authentic journey into the life and you get to feel the soil so to speak as he lays out his story for you.

As with his music, the best way to experience Glasses Malone is by hearing so I’m going to get off this keyboard and invite you to tune in to our great conversation below!
